These terms govern your use of Velune's digital library, subscriptions, and related services. Please read them carefully before using our platform.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", "your") and Velune ("we", "us", "our", "the Platform") governing your access to and use of the Velune digital library platform, including our website, mobile web application, Progressive Web App (PWA), and all associated features and services.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not create an account or use the Platform. Your continued use of Velune after any updates to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
By using Velune you also confirm that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
Velune is a digital library platform that provides registered users with access to a curated collection of books, academic texts, and video tutorials across a wide range of genres and disciplines. Our current library includes:
We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove content from the library at any time, including moving titles between Free and Premium tiers, without prior notice. The removal or reclassification of content does not entitle you to a refund unless expressly stated in our Refund Policy.
Velune is primarily designed for the Nigerian market and processes payments in Nigerian Naira (NGN). Certain features, payment methods, and content availability may vary by region.
To access personalised features — including reading progress tracking, bookmarks, favourites, and Premium content — you must create a Velune account. You may register using:

Each account is for the personal use of a single individual. You may not create accounts on behalf of others without their explicit consent, or create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limitations.
We reserve the right to assign account roles — including user, admin, or banned — at our sole discretion. Accounts found to be in breach of these Terms may be suspended or permanently banned.
Velune offers two plans:

Premium subscriptions are auto-renewing. Your plan will automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date.
We may introduce additional plans, discounts (including student discounts — 50% off with a verified school email), or family plans in the future. The terms applicable to such plans will be communicated at the time of their introduction.
All Premium subscription payments are processed securely by our payment providers:
By subscribing to a Premium plan, you authorise us (and our payment processors) to charge your selected payment method the applicable subscription fee on each billing date. All amounts are stated inclusive of any applicable taxes unless otherwise noted.
You are responsible for ensuring your payment method remains valid throughout your subscription period. If a payment fails, we may suspend your access to Premium features until the balance is settled. We will notify you via email of any failed payments.
Velune does not store your full card details. All payment information is held securely by Paystack or Stripe under their respective PCI-DSS compliant infrastructures.
All Premium transactions are recorded in your account history, accessible from your Dashboard.
Cancellation. You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time from your account Settings. Upon cancellation, your Premium access remains active until the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged again after cancellation.
Refunds after 7 days. Outside the 7-day money-back window, subscription fees are generally non-refundable. Exceptions may be made at our discretion in cases of significant service failure on our part.
Annual plans. If you cancel an annual plan after the 7-day refund period, you will retain Premium access until the end of the annual period already paid for. Pro-rata refunds are not issued for the unused portion of an annual plan, except where required by applicable Nigerian consumer protection law.
Plan switching. You may switch between monthly and annual billing at any time from account settings. Any cost difference will be prorated and credited toward your new plan. Switches take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
You agree to use Velune only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the Platform by any third party. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account and, where applicable, referral to relevant law enforcement authorities.
Platform IP. The Velune platform — including its name, logo, user interface design, code, graphics, and all non-user-generated content — is owned by or licensed to Velune and is protected by Nigerian and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our express written consent.
Books and content. All books, publications, and video tutorials available on Velune are owned by their respective authors and publishers. Velune licenses this content for you to read and view digitally within the Platform only. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal licence to access this content for private, non-commercial use. This licence does not:
Trademarks. "Velune" and associated logos are trademarks of Velune. You may not use our trademarks in any way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without our prior written permission.
Velune allows you to create and store personal content within your account, including:
You retain ownership of all content you create within your account. By creating this content on Velune, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and display it solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.
You are responsible for the content you create in your account. You must not store or transmit any content that is unlawful, defamatory, offensive, or infringes any third-party rights.
If you delete your account, all your user-generated content will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations.
Premium subscribers have access to parental control settings within the Dashboard. These controls allow account holders to:
Parental controls are the responsibility of the account holder. Velune provides these tools as a best-effort feature but cannot guarantee absolute filtering of all potentially inappropriate content. The account holder is ultimately responsible for supervising the use of their account by minors.
Our library does contain books flagged as adult content (is_adult = true). Such content is only accessible on accounts where the adult content filter has not been enabled. If you are setting up an account for a child, we strongly recommend enabling the block adult content setting immediately after registration.
Premium subscribers have access to AI-powered book recommendations. This feature analyses your reading history, completed books, favourites, and browsing behaviour to suggest titles you may enjoy.
AI recommendations are provided as a convenience feature and are not guaranteed to be accurate, relevant, or exhaustive. Velune does not make any warranty regarding the quality or suitability of recommended content.
The data used to generate recommendations — specifically your reading history and favourites — is processed internally and is not shared with third-party advertising networks. See our Privacy Policy for full details of how your data is used.
You may opt out of AI recommendations at any time by contacting adminveluneapp@gmailcom.
Premium subscribers may install the Velune Progressive Web App (PWA) and access content offline. The following conditions apply to offline access:
By you. You may close your account at any time by contacting us at adminveluneapp@gmailcom or through your account settings. Cancellation of your subscription (see Section 6) does not automatically delete your account; account deletion must be requested separately.
By us. We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account, without prior notice, if we determine (in our sole discretion) that:
In cases of account termination for cause, you will not be entitled to a refund of any unused subscription fees. Where a termination is made in error, you may appeal by contacting adminveluneapp@gmailcom within 14 days of the termination.
Effect of termination. Upon account deletion or termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately. All your stored data (bookmarks, highlights, reading history, profile) will be deleted from our systems within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.
The Velune Platform and all content available through it are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Specifically, we do not warrant that:
We are not responsible for the content of books and materials authored by third parties. Views expressed in books available on Velune are those of the respective authors and do not represent the views of Velune.
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Velune and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:
In all circumstances where we are found liable, our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to Velune in the 12-month period immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation between the parties. If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, it shall be submitted to arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act (as amended) of Nigeria, with proceedings conducted in English in Lagos, Nigeria.
You may also be entitled to bring claims before Nigerian consumer protection bodies, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), in accordance with applicable Nigerian law. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a Nigerian consumer.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, legal requirements, or other legitimate business reasons. When we make material changes, we will:
Your continued use of Velune after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance. If you do not agree with any changes, you should cancel your subscription and close your account before the changes take effect.
Minor changes (such as corrections of typos, formatting improvements, or clarifications that do not materially affect your rights) may be made without notice.
